Privacy notice for jwstrata.co.uk

What we collect when you use this website or get in touch, why we collect it, who handles it for us and what you can ask us to do with it.

01 / Who we are

Billy and Jamie, from Doncaster.

JW Strata is run by Billy and Jamie from Doncaster. We decide how the information described here is used, which makes us responsible for it under UK data protection law.

If you have a question about your information, email billy@jwstrata.co.uk or jamie@jwstrata.co.uk, or ring 07395 584719.

02 / What we collect

Only what you send us, and analytics if you say yes.

When you send a project brief: the details you type in. Your email address and business name are required. Your name, phone number, business type, area, current website, the plans or services you’re interested in and your notes are up to you. Please don’t include passwords, payment details or other sensitive information.

When you email, ring or message us: your message and the contact details that come with it.

If you accept analytics cookies: Google Analytics records the pages you visit, how you found the site and information about your device and browser. If you send an enquiry, it counts that one was sent, never what you wrote. If you reject them, Google Analytics doesn’t run at all.

To keep the site running and safe: our hosting company keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, the pages requested and the browser used. To stop spam, the enquiry form keeps a scrambled code made from your IP address (a one-way hash, never the address itself) with the times of your recent sends, and only looks at the past hour.

03 / Why we use it

To reply to you, and nothing you haven’t asked for.

To reply to your enquiry and talk about work you’ve asked us about. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or on taking steps you’ve asked for before a contract.

To understand how the site is used, but only if you accept analytics cookies. We rely on your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.

To keep the site secure and working. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a safe website.

We don’t sell your information, use it for advertising or add you to a mailing list.

04 / Who handles it for us

Four services, each doing one job.

Hostinger hosts this website and our email inboxes. Brevo delivers enquiries from the form to those inboxes. Google provides Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies. WhatsApp, owned by Meta, carries your message if you choose to contact us there, and WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to that.

These companies act on our instructions. Some of them may process information outside the UK, and where they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

05 / How long we keep it

No longer than we need it.

We keep enquiries, and the emails that follow them, for up to 12 months after we last hear from you, then delete them. If you become a client, we keep what we need to run your project and our accounts for as long as the law requires, usually six years.

Analytics cookies last up to 180 days. Your cookie choice is remembered in your own browser for 180 days, not on our server. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, which stops measurement and removes the analytics cookies.

06 / Your rights

Ask us, and we’ll sort it.

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, limit how we use it or stop using it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email us and we’ll reply within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We’ll update this page if the way we handle information changes. Last updated 24 October 2026.
